Established in 2018, 22KYMCO is a new two-wheeler mobility start-up that is a joint venture between 22Motors and KYMCO (Kwang Yang Motor Company), a Taiwanese brand that is popular for manufacturing motorcycles, scooters and ATVs for worldwide distribution.

Under the new partnership, 22KYMCO aims at offering new mobility solutions in the market through electric and well as internal combustion engine powered vehicles. In order to stand out from other manufacturers in the same space, 22KYMCO’s products are accompanied by lithium-ion battery (electric vehicles), internet connectivity and artificial intelligence to name a few.

For the Indian two-wheeler market, 22KYMCO has currently unveiled a line-up of three vehicles, all scooters, targeted at different segments. The first one is the iFlow electric scooter that features KYMCO’s swappable IONEX battery system. Next is the Like200, a classic retro-styled scooter for the emerging 150cc-200cc scooter market. The third one is a maxi-scooter named X-Town 300i creating a new segment of its own with its 276cc liquid-cooled engine.

The company is currently aiming at setting up a strong dealership network of 300 outlets in the next three years. 22KYMCO will reportedly commence the sale of its products in September with an initial plan to begin operations in six cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
