About V125

Lambretta V125 is expected to launch in India in July 2023 in the expected price range of ₹ 80,000 to ₹ 90,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to V125 are Yamaha Fascino 125, Hero Destini 125 Xtec & Honda Grazia. Another bike similar to V125 is Kawasaki Versys X-300 which is launching in June 2023 in India.

The V-Special series of scooters are the first fresh designs from the iconic Lambretta marque in nearly five decades. It will lead with three displacements, 50cc, 125cc and 200cc. Of these the latter two are expected to make it to the Indian market, with the 125 being the obvious choice to start with.

The V-125 has been developed in association with KISKA design house. It sports a semi-monocoque chassis, and although we think the fixed fender looks cool, the ‘flex’ fender (which moves from side to side along with the front wheel). The features list includes LED lamps, a 12V charger, and an LCD instrument panel with the speedo the only analogue bit as a nod back to its predecessors. Bluetooth connectivity will also be available. For those looking for practicality, two storage compartments and a luggage hook will be available as well. The V125 Special has a 125cc air-cooled single cylinder engine that generates 10bhp, which is on par with competition like the Vespa LX125. It also gets disc brakes at both ends, which is a feature that isn’t seen yet on an Indian scooter.

The launch of the Lambretta V125 Special is scheduled for 2019, but it is subject to the company finding a suitable distributor network and maybe setting up assembly of its products to keep costs in check.
