The last week was as exciting as it could get for the Indian two-wheeler industry. Multiple brands launched their new products while Harley-Davidson’s upcoming made-in-India bike was revealed in all its glory. And following our Sunday ritual, we bring you a round-up of the top five such interesting bike updates from the last week.
Simple One electric scooter launched
Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy launched the One electric scooter in India. The key details of the scooter include removable and fixed batteries with a capacity of 5kWh and a total claimed range of 212km. Moreover, the e-scooter comes with a 4.5kW motor that offers 105kmph of top speed. As for the price, the Simple One is pegged at Rs 1.45 lakh.
Yamaha updated the R15 V4’s colour palette with the launch of the all-new Dark Knight edition paint scheme. This colour option is priced at Rs 1,81,900, making it more affordable than the Racing Blue and Intensity White paint options but more expensive than the Red paint scheme. This iteration of the R15 V4 sports stealth-looking matte black base paint with blingy golden highlights.
Harley-Davidson India released new images of the upcoming new X440roadster ahead of its launch in our market. This will be the brand’s smallest-ever motorcycle for the Indian market and it will be made in India in association with Hero MotoCorp. 2023 Royal Enfield Meteor 350 spied
Royal Enfield was spied on testing the 2023 model of the Meteor 350. Looking at the pictures, we could observe a few subtle yet noticeable updates on the test mule. The bike sports more chrome-finished components, spoke wheels in place of alloy wheels, and a full-LED headlamp instead of the halogen setup in the existing bike. The design of the front fender is also slightly different.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 spied
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 was spotted in India yet again. The new test mule’s side profiles were covered but still a notable degree of details were revealed in these spy shots. The bike was seen with an LED headlight topped by a transparent visor and a secondary fender below. Lending the rider an upright riding position was a fairly tall handlebar along with a split seat setup. The official launch is likely to take place towards the end of this year.
