Yamaha has launched something special – the Tenere World Rally Edition. This new motorcycle has been designed and developed to celebrate Yamaha's 30 years of its 1993 Dakar bike.

Yamaha won its first Dakar race in 1979 with the XT500, which their rider Stephane Peterhansel achieved. The Japanese brand has equipped this special edition with the Dakar-winning livery to celebrate this moment.

A few more additions have been made to this motorcycle. This bike gets a KYB long travel suspension system and an Akrapovic titanium exhaust. The dual-side fuel tanks remain the same, but a new flat, two-piece seat is complete with a new World Rally logo. This has been done to offer lots of comfort during multiple days of riding.

This Yamaha also gets a three-mode switchable ABS and an Öhlins adjustable steering damper to help keep the front stable. These features are exclusive to only this variant. The bike also gets a five-inch colour TFT screen with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity. The mechanical specifications remain unchanged on this bike. This ADV continues to power from a 689cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 72.4bhp at 9,000rpm and 68Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.

This special Tenere has been priced at Rs 13.41 lakh, and the deliveries will commence this month. Sadly, this bike will only be sold in European markets for now.
