The Africa Twin is Honda’s flagship adventure-touring motorcycle. The 2019 Honda Africa Twin only gets a new paint scheme; Glint Wave Blue Metallic. It includes a metallic shade of blue along with white and red highlights. The 2019 Africa Twin also sports gold-finished spoke wheels.

The Africa Twin rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels, shod with Bridgestone dual-sport tyres. The suspension setup consists of 45mm cartridge-type Showa inverted front forks and a Pro-Link rear monoshock. Stopping power is provided by dual 310mm petal discs at the front and a 256mm petal disc at the rear. ABS is offered as standard, and can be turned off for the rear wheel.

The Africa Twin competes against the Triumph Tiger 800 XCx and the BMW F850GS in India.

Honda Africa Twin [2018-2019] Expert Opinion

  • Good Things

    • The DCT gearbox is a boon for city riding
    • The narrow seat makes off-roading really easy
    • 1000cc engine is known for its strong mid-range
  • Could be Better

    • Limited service reach
    • It’s on the expensive side

BikeWale's Take

The Africa Twin is one of the best adventure bikes ever made. It’s accessible seat height, great engine and the DCT gearbox makes it a unique motorcycle to own. Its price tag is slightly on the higher side, but if you want a great motorcycle to live in the city as well as on the trails, the Africa Twin is a good option.
