About CB650R

Honda CB650R is a sports bike available at a starting price of Rs. 9,14,337 in India. It is available in only 1 variant and 2 colours. The Honda CB650R is powered by 648.72cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 85.82 bhp and a torque of 57.5 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Honda CB650R comes up with anti-locking braking system. This CB650R bike weighs 206 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 15.4 liters.

Honda launched the CB650R mid-size naked bike for the first time in India in March 2021. Now, it accompanies the CBR650R fully-faired offering that has been available in India for a long time, but it had an ‘F’ in its name until around Jan 2019. Both bikes are based on the same platform but there are certain differences depending on their purpose.

Similar to the CB300R and the CB1000R, the 650cc iteration too boasts Honda’s ‘Neo Sports Café’ styling. It is a combination of retro and modern design elements with a circular headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, a tiny tank extension, and a stubby tail. Complementing its distinctive styling are modern features like full-LED lighting, fully-digital console, and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) that is essentially the traction control system with switchable functionality. It also gets ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) that activates the front and rear hazard lights in an event of sudden braking.

Powering the CB650R is a 649cc, inline four-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC engine that produces 84.6bhp of power at 12,000rpm and 57.5Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. Its six-speed gearbox is accompanied by an assist and slipper clutch. As for the cycle parts, the suspension setup comprises Showa upside-down forks and a monoshock, while stopping power comes from dual radially-mounted four-piston brake callipers with floating dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear.

The Honda CB650R is available as a CKD (completely knocked down) product and can be had in one of the two available paint schemes - Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. In the middle-weight naked bike genre, it competes against the Kawasaki Z650 and the Triumph Trident 660.
