About CBR1000RR-R Fireblade

Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is a super bike available at a starting price of Rs. 23,72,222 in India. It is available in 2 variants and 2 colours with top variant price starting from Rs. 24,23,651. The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is powered by 1000cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 215 bhp and a torque of 113 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade comes up with anti-locking braking system. This CBR1000RR-R Fireblade bike weighs 201 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 16.1 liters.

The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is the company’s flagship sports motorcycle that competes in the litre-class segment. Honda offers two variants of the motorcycle - CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. Both motorcycles are brought into the country via the Completely Built-up (CBU) route.

Honda unveiled the two models at the 2019 EICMA Show in Milan. The chassis technology of the new Fireblade is heavily inspired by the RC213V-S that was based on the company’s MotoGP motorcycle, the RC213V. The new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade features a longer wheelbase, rake and trail that is claimed to deliver improved stability.

The feature list comprises of twin-LED headlamps, multiple air vents, aerodynamic winglets, full-colour five-inch TFT-screen and a sharp tail section. The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade will be offered in two colour options – Grand Prix Red and Matte Pearl Morion Black. The SP version will be available in Grand Prix Red colour only.

Both variants of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade are powered by a 999cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 16-valve, DOHC engine. The motor is tuned to deliver 215bhp of power at 14,500rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 12,500rpm. The power output is higher by about 29bhp over its predecessor.

The electronics package, which works with new Bosch six-axis IMU, includes Throttle-by-Wire, three riding modes, ABS, wheelie control, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and launch control.

The shock absorption setup on the standard model includes 43mm Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) at the front and a Showa Balance Free Rear Cushion Light (BFRC-L). Braking power on the standard version comes from Nissin-sourced calliper at the front and a Brembo calliper at the rear.

The SP variant, on the other hand, uses higher-spec components. Thus, the suspension setup comprises of semi-active Ohlins EC 43mm NPX forks at the front and an Ohlins TTX36 Smart-EC mono-shock at the rear. Anchoring setup includes Brembo Stylema callipers for the front and a Brembo monoblock calliper at the rear. Both variants also get Showa’s new three-level Honda Electronic Steering Damper.

BikeWale's Take

The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is Honda’s flagship supersport motorcycle. As it is with all Honda motorcycles, the ‘Blade comes with a refined engine and top-quality components.
