- It’s equipped with a couple of panniers and a top-box

- Features a headlight grill too

- Seems ready for production

By now, we’ve lost count of the times the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been spotted testing. And it was recently seen on public roads once again on one of its test runs. But this time, the test bike was equipped with accessories as well.

The upcoming Himalayan 450 will also feature luggage compatibility, thanks to this hard-case setup. A set of panniers and a top box are mounted on the tail rack. Apart from that, the headlight is also protected by the grill. Rest all the bits seem standard to the previously spotted test bikes.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Head Light

So, the Himalayan 450’s equipped with the same LED headlight, with a transparent visor above and a beak beneath. The handlebar, round mirror, split seat, upright riding posture and all the design cues have remained unchanged. It’ll be powered by a  450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that could dish out 40bhp and 45Nm. It will be linked to a six-speed gearbox.

In one of our previous stories, we also got a more comprehensive look at the Himalayan 450’s instrument console. It revealed that the single-pod setup is likely to house a fully digital setup and feature a tachometer reading at the periphery with the gear position indicator in the centre. Adjacent to that is the speedometer and the trip meter readout also appears above. We think the fuel level reading is between the tachometer and gear position indicator.

Royal Enfield will equip the Himalayan 450 with USD front forks and offset rear shock. Its braking hardware includes a front and rear disc with ABS and the setup is mounted on spoked wheels. The units are shod to block-pattern tyres.

As we’ve mentioned before, the bike could make its debut very soon and its asking price is expected to be around Rs. 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once here, the Himalayan 450 will have the BMW G 310 GS, KTM 390 Adventure X and a few other ADV bikes in its crosshair.
