Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2023 Xtreme 160R in India as its latest offering in the 160cc segment. The recently launched model is the successor to the current two-valve trim and here’s all you need to know about it.

Hero has tweaked the updated model's headlight unit and draped it in multiple new paint schemes. These are dual-tone options and the Xtreme 160R 4V has a split seat setup alongside the single-piece seat. Apart from that, the new model has retained its sharp and youthful nature in terms of design and overall demeanor. Notably, the thick pillion seat also adds to the visual mass.

What changes has Hero made to the 2023 Xtreme 160R 4V’s engine?

For 2023, Hero has updated the Xtreme 160R with the four-valve treatment, similar to the remaining models. So, it now packs a single-cylinder 163cc oil-cooled four-valve motor that makes 16.6bhp and 14.4Nm. With the new setup, the bike now makes 1.5bhp more than before. It's linked to five-speed gearbox.

What features does the updated Xtreme 160R 4V get?

Apart from the LED illumination, the Xtreme 160R features a fully digital console that houses all the necessary readouts like a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level reading, and time. But the bike also comes with smartphone compatibility via Bluetooth giving the console access to SMS and call notifications.

Are there any hardware changes that Hero has made for the Xtreme 160R 4V?

One of the major and commanding changes for the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V comes in the form of the new golden USD front forks, but only for the Pro variant. That said, the seven-step adjustable monoshock at the rear and the front disc and rear drum brake setup have been retained. Similar to the two valve model, the new one also gets a dual-disc variant. The Xtreme rides on alloy wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres.

How much does the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V cost?

The Xtreme 160R 4V will be available in three variants: standard, Connected and Pro. The asking price for the base model is Rs. 1,27,300 while the Connected and Pro trims are priced at Rs. 1,32,800 and Rs. 1,36,500 (all ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the TVS Apache RTR 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and a few more names in the said segment.
