About V 48

The Ampere V48 is the most affordable product in the company’s portfolio. It is available in two battery options, Lead-acid and Lithium-ion. The former is priced at Rs 35,899 and the latter at Rs 52,199 (ex-showroom).

The e-scooter follows a conventional design language similar to internal combustion scooters in the market. It is suspended by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is done by drum units at both ends. Powering the V48 is a 250W BDLC motor that draws power from a 48 V/24 Ah battery. The charging time and range vary depending on the type of battery the scooter is equipped with. On a lead-acid battery, the V 48 takes about 8-10 hours for a full charge offering a range of 45-50 km. Whereas, in the case of the Lithium-ion battery, it takes about 5-6 hours to charge completely while returning a higher range of 60-65 km. The e-scooter has a top speed of 25kmph and a kerb weight of 66kg (Lithium-ion) and 84kg (Lead-acid).

Ampere offers the V48 with the choice of three colour options - black, grey and red.

BikeWale's Take

The V48 e-scooter series is an entry-level product from Ampere. This scooter has been developed for someone who want a no non-sense light weight electric two-wheeler. The V48 is available in lead acid as well as Li-ion batteries. But the brand doesn’t have a pan India presence.
